R.D. Jukes & Co. Ltd. has operated a successful electrical apprenticeship scheme since the company was founded in 1968.
Each year we invest in apprentices to join our 4-year training programme in collaboration with our Training providers, Birmingham Electrical Training. These opportunities are open to apply annually from the spring of each year, right up to when the college academic training begins each autumn.
An example of the timescale for delivery of training is shown below.
Year 1
Complete Stage one NVQ Logbook (evidence derived from work activities and on site assessment, recorded in NVQ logbook), complete City & Guilds 5357 knowledge units, completion of any Functional Skills portfolio and external tests.
601 – Health & Safety
602 – Environmental Technologies
603 – Overseeing & Organising the work
604 – Planning & selection for an installation
609 – Electrical Principles
Year 2
Complete stage 2 NVQ Logbook (evidence derived from work activities and on site assessment, recorded in NVQ logbook), complete second year City & Guilds 5357 knowledge units leading to full Level Three Technical Certificate qualification.
705 – Preparation & Installation of Wiring and Equipment
606 – Termination & Connecting
609 – Electrical Principles
Year 3
Complete stage 3 NVQ logbook (evidence derived from work activities and on site assessment, recorded in NVQ logbook) and two final theory units.
607 – Inspection, Testing & Commissioning
608 – Diagnoses & Fault Correction
Year 4
On site work experience with employer, undertake AM2S End Point Assessment, NVQ Level 3 certificate gained.
