R.D. Jukes & Co. Ltd. was appointed to deliver the electrical services associated with the refurbishment and second-floor extension of Nuffield College in Oxford.
The project involved the design, supply and installation of a comprehensive electrical package, combining new power distribution infrastructure with lighting, life safety and communication systems to support the upgraded college facilities.

Delivering new electrical infrastructure as part of the refurbishment and extension of an existing college building required careful coordination with the wider construction programme.
The electrical installation needed to accommodate the requirements of the refurbished areas and new second-floor space while ensuring the various power, lighting, life safety and communication systems were successfully integrated. Close collaboration with the Principal Contractor was essential to keep the works aligned with the client's requirements and project deadline.
R.D. Jukes delivered the complete electrical services package, including mains and sub-mains distribution incorporating LV switchgear and under-floor distribution, alongside small power, lighting and emergency lighting installations.
Our scope also incorporated a range of critical life safety and communication systems, including fire alarms, smoke ventilation, disabled refuge and accessible toilet alarms, together with voice and data containment. Earthing and bonding works completed the installation, with our team coordinating closely with the Principal Contractor throughout delivery to ensure each element integrated effectively with the wider refurbishment.
R.D. Jukes successfully completed the electrical services package in accordance with the client's requirements and agreed programme.
The project demonstrates our longstanding experience of delivering integrated electrical infrastructure and life safety systems within education environments, as well as our ability to support refurbishment and extension projects from design through to completed installation.
